Massage to bolster your respiratory system

Many muscles and structures support the respiratory system move well through each inhalation and exhalation and help air flow smoothly.

Depending on your needs, we blend the following techniques to help you breathe easier:
  • Ease the diaphragm and lengthen accessory respiratory muscles of the neck, back and shoulders that, when chronically tight and shortened, restrict healthy breathing.
  • Raise the shoulders and improve posture and alignment, which can open the chest and expand the rib cage for the lungs to open wider.
  • Relax the nervous system, taking it out of the fight-or-flight state into the rest-and-relax state.
  • Use tapotement, a rhythmic,percussive stroke used in Swedish massage on the back along with vibration and shaking to loosen mucus in the lungs and increase airway clearance for better lung function.
